About Munno Para

Munno Para is a northern suburb of Adelaide in South Australia with a population of 1,754 people according to the 2006 Census. Most of the suburb’s residents were born in Australia with about 12.9 per cent claiming England as their birth country. The population is 50.8 per cent female and 49.2 per cent male.

Currently located in the city of Playford, Munno Para was a part of the City of Munno Para until 1997. The name Munno Para means “golden wattle creek,” in the local Kauma dialect.

The suburb is home to the Munno Para Primary School and it has its own community newspaper, the News Review Messenger.

Main North Road runs through the suburb connecting it to neighbouring Elizabeth, Gawler and Salisbury. The Adelaide Metro services Munno Para and the Gawler Central railway line runs to the Munno Para railway station. A bicycle path runs through the green space found in the middle of the suburb.
